Troy Evans

Troy “Buzz” Evans, 86, of Moncks Corner, passed away Tuesday April 20, 2021, rejoining his pre-deceased wife of 66 years, Jeannie Mae.

Troy was born October 2, 1934 in Greenville, South Carolina a son of Melvin Andy Evans and Gertrude Elizabeth Fowler Evans.

A retired USN Chief of 26 years, Troy served two tours in Vietnam. He was also inducted into Greenville Textile Hall of Fame in 2019 for the Piedmont Rangers.

Surviving are three sons- Michael Evans; Bob Evans and his wife, Cheryl and Jerry Evans and his wife, Kelly; Donna Hall; a brother- Joe Evans and his wife, Nan; grandchildren- Brittany Gaskins and her husband, Doug; Brandon Evans and his wife, Samantha; Mallory Evans; Christopher Evans and his wife, Kathryn.

His graveside service, with full military honors, will be held in Plantation Memorial Gardens, Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2021 at 3 o’clock, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner.
