Richard "Rick" Allen Barber

Richard “Rick” Allen Barber, 74, of North Charleston, husband of Barbara Barber passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Rick was born October 25, 1946, in Minden Louisiana, a son of William Barber and Annie McBride Totten.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, Rick and Barbara were married for almost 53 years. Rick and Barbara are members of Faith Assembly Church. Rick had a love of ham radios, and was an operator since the age of 14. He lived a life of adventure, he enjoyed having his pilot’s license and loved building furniture. Rick served our country in the Armed Forces; he was a serviceman in the United States Air Force. Rick worked as an IT technician for the SC Ports Authority.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is their son; James Barber and his wife Wendy of Virginia Beach, VA; two Grandchildren- Jeremy Barber and his wife Maggie; Kendel Ganis and her husband, Michael; One Great grandchild- Logan Barber; six siblings- Janet Gelpi; James Totten, Suzanne Stewart, Karen Kendall, Georgine Kamradt, and Bobby Kamradt.

His service will be held at Faith Assembly Church in Summerville, Friday, October 1 at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 o’clock until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC.
