Richard Chaplin Dennis, Jr. 93, of Bonneau, passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021.

Richard was born April 5, 1928 in Berkeley County, a son of Richard Chaplin Dennis, Sr. and Lessie Brinson Dennis.

A US Army veteran, Richard served his country in the Korean Conflict, he was also a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was a farmer who enjoyed fishing, traveling and watching sports on television.

Surviving are a son- Rick Dennis and his wife, Sherry of Bonneau; a daughter- Gwen Stritch and her husband, Michael, of Saluda, NC; three brothers- Tom Dennis, Harry Dennis and his wife, Rubalee, Danny Dennis and his wife, Diane; two sisters- Hilda Lewis and her husband, Dave and Catherine Chapman and her husband, Charlie; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Richard is predeceased by a brother- Fleetwood Dennis.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held in the Dennis Family Cemetery, 236 Dennis Ridge Road, Bonneau SC 29431, Tuesday afternoon January 26, 2021 at 2 o'clock. There will be receiving of friends at the family home, 232 Dennis Ridge Road, Bonneau from 1 o'clock until the hour of service and continuing after the interment.
