Norma (Snell) Collins

Norma Collins, 86, of Moncks Corner, passed away on November 27, 2022, and was the widow of Orville Collins.

Norma was born January 17, 1936, in Elloree, SC, the daughter Hampton and Agnes Snell.

She graduated from Bowman High School, in Bowman, SC, and was a women’s basketball team member. Norma was employed by the state, serving as an administrative assistant at SC Job Service for many years.

Mrs. Colllins was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a devoted member of Wassamassaw Baptist Church, Norma enjoyed reading her Bible, attending church, and shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter- Cynthia Cogdill and her husband, Robert of Cross; her son- William Peagler and his wife Neva, of Cross ; three grandchildren-Alicia Zorn and her husband, Scott; Robbie Cogdill and his wife, Jenny; Diane Baughn and her husband, David; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister-Evelyn Hood, of Vance. She was predeceased by her first husband, William “Pee Wee” Peagler.

Her funeral service will be held at Wassamassaw Baptist Church, Friday, December 2, 2022, at 12 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 o’clock until the hour of the service.
