Marshall Smith, Sr. Obituary

Marshall Lee Smith, Sr., 76, of Moncks Corner, husband of Karen Allen Smith passed away Wednesday morning January 6, 2021.

Marshall was born, September 6, 1944 in Colleton County a son of the late James Vernon Smith and Hettie Mills Smith.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Marshall was a retired driver license examiner for the Moncks Corner DMV. He graduated from SC Highway Patrol School and managed the DMV office for many years. Everyone in the community enjoyed telling their personal stories of getting their driver’s license. Marshall also owned and operated Rock Solid Photo for over 10 years, touching many lives through his photography. He loved to fish and hunt and spent time as a commercial guide. He loved to spend time with his granddaughters and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. 

In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by two sons- Marshall Lee Smith, Jr. of Goose Creek and Keith Allen Smith of Moncks Corner; two granddaughters- Kadance Meree Smith and Kensington Allen Smith; two brothers- James V. Smith, II and his wife, Helen, of North Charleston and Robert M. Smith and his wife, Judy, of Ridgeland. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother- Johnny M. Smith.

His graveside funeral service will be held at St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinopolis, Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2021 at 1 o’clock, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel.
