Larry Ray Obituary

Charles "Larry" Ray, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024, in Hilliard, Ohio. Larry was born on January 8, 1944, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, to the late James F. Ray and Irene Jackson Ray Hathaway.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Barber Ray, and children: Allison Bilton and her husband Styles, Jared Ray, Matthew Ray, and Caitlin Ray. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Daniel Bilton and Zaiden Ray, as well as his sisters, Trisha Bounds and Judy Inman. Larry was predeceased by his parents, his brothers John "Curtis" Ray and James "Franklin" Ray, and his sister Shirley Todd.

A proud Vietnam Veteran, Larry served his country with honor in the U.S. Army before embarking on a career that took him to the icy tundra of Prudho Bay, Alaska. He eventually retired from H.R. Gray in Columbus, Ohio, where he was highly regarded for his professionalism and dedication.

Larry's zest for life was evident in his love for the outdoors, especially taking care of his yard and spending time at the beach, with Edisto being a favorite destination. His passion for a good cup of coffee was well known among family and friends. Larry's unwavering commitment to his loved ones will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Charles “Larry” Ray lived a full life, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that will be treasured eternally.
