Jason E. Dawson

Jason Edward Dawson, 47, of Summerville passed away Friday August 27, 2021.

Jason was born May 6, 1974 in Berkeley County a son of Crawford Milton Dawson and Pamela Nix North.

A 1992 graduate of Macedonia High School, Jason retired from Santee Cooper and then started his own business, Carolina Land Services, he had a wonderful work ethic and was known to be a very hard worker. Jason was also a member of the Mt. Hope Masonic Lodge.

A friend to everyone, Jason did not know a stranger. He was passionate about his family, friends and work, he was a giving person with a “jolly laugh and big heart”. He was known for his wit, sense of humor and one-liners. He enjoyed racing, working, being outdoors, hunting, fishing and grilling for family and friends. His large personality will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Jason is survived by his father- Crawford Milton Dawson of New Bern, NC; mother- Pamela Nix North of Spartanburg, SC; daughter- Victoria Elizabeth Dawson of Macedonia; son- Hayden Dupree Dawson of Macedonia; Victoria and Hayden’s mother- Vickie Gaskins Dawson, also of Macedonia; his fiancé- Sandra Dee Williams of Summerville; brothers- Jeff Dawson of Texas and Christian Dawson and his wife, Stephanie, of St. Stephen;  Michael Dawson and Justin Dawson both of New Bern, NC. Jason is predeceased by his step father- Heyward Dupree, Jr. and step sister- Casey Dupree.

A memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Wednesday September 1, 2021 at 6 o’clock. For those unable to attend, the service will be Live Streamed onto Russell Funeral Chapel's Facebook page.  The family will receive friends at the chapel from 5 o’clock until the hour of service. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS SERVICE.
