James Alton Ray

James Alton Ray of Ponte Vedra Beack, Fl., passed away at his home on December 18, 2023. He was born March 6, 1939 in Ft. Pierce, Fl. and spent most of his childhood in Berkeley County, S.C. and graduated from Macedonia High School in 1956. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Frank Ray and mother, Irene Jackson Ray, daughter, Heather Greenslate, sister, Shirley Ray Todd and brother, John Curtis Ray. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda Wingfield Ray, daughter, Kathy Ray Ashemore, brother, Charles Larry Ray and sisters, Patricia Ray Bounds and Judy Ray Inman; stepchildren- Kathy Chase Braddock, her husband Mark, Carlos"Buzz"Chase, his wife Gloria, Michael R. Chase, his wife Mary, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside burial will be held at Bonneau Baptist Cemetery, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11 AM.
