Obituary

James Floyd Murrell, Jr., 81, of Moncks Corner, widower of Delores Ard Murrell, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

James was born on July 17, 1941, in Grayson, Texas. Throughout his lifetime, he accomplished many feats, such as retiring from the US Navy after serving 20+ years, owning Tee Pee Lounge, Jimbo’s Restaurant and Game Room, Gold Finger Pawn Shop, and Ace Mobile Home Center and even becoming a professor at Trident Technical College.

James is survived by his daughters Tammy Brinson and her husband Richard of Moncks Corner and Carol Sangston and her husband Scott of Trabuco Canyon California; two sisters Della Skerkis and Emma Conner both of Texas; five grandchildren Ashton Herlihy, Whitney Brinson, Seth Brinson, Kennedy Brinson, and Jimmy Yaji, and one great-grandchild Owen Herlihy. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents James Floyd Murrell, Sr, and Lilly Jobe Murrell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to St. John’s Christian Academy 204 West Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
