Alfred “Al” W. O’Leary, 88, of Moncks Corner, passed away Tuesday December 22, 2020 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Alfred was born October 9, 1932 in Honor Michigan, a son of Floyd and Lena Caldwell O’Leary.
He grew up on a farm in Michigan and graduated from Empire High School. Alfred then joined the US Air Force and served his country during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for government contractors as foreman of aircraft maintenance, he was later employed by Dupont. Alfred enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and was a master handyman who many called upon. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are a son- Robert “Bob” O’Leary (Angela Driggers) of Bonneau Beach; a daughter- Susan O’Leary of Goose Creek; former wife- Margaret O’Leary Hanson of Hanahan; three sisters- Phyllis Wheeler, Karen Scheuring and Ruth McDole; four brothers- Frank, Joe, Jim and Greg O’Leary all of Michigan. He is predeceased by a son- Michael Wayne O’Leary.
The family would like to thank all the aids that assisted with Alfred’s private care, along with Agape Hospice and Lowcountry Community Hospice House.
The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel Saturday morning December 26, 2020 from 11 to 12 o’clock. Followed by a 1 o’clock graveside service at Carolina Memorial Gardens, N. Charleston, South Carolina.
