Willard “Bill” Edward Sneath “Pops”, 82, of Moncks Corner, retired machinist and repairman, husband of Helen Ann Rauli Sneath, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
Born August 10, 1934, in Broudus Montana, “Bill” was a son of Emanuel Edward Sneath and Alta Leatha Bidwell Sneath.
Married on August 6, 1951, “Bill” and Helen shared 65 years of marriage. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. “Bill” enjoyed fishing, he was a founder and member of the Santee Cooper Bass Masters Club. He was a very talented woodworker, who hand made an amazing collection of wooden toys. “Bill” was well known among his friends for always being willing to lend a helping hand and for touching many lives.
He served with the U.S. Navy in Korea and Vietnam, he retired from the military after 33 years of service. “Bill” spent 15 years as a maintenance machinist before retiring from Eagle Superior Manufacturing in Georgetown.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons-Wayne Edward Sneath and his wife, Donata, of Moncks Corner; Kodie Hunter Sneath of Moncks Corner; three brothers- Roy Sneath of Libby, Montana; Thomas Sneath of Missoula, Montana; Harold Sneath of Spokane, Washington; one sister-Leona Sneath of Libby, Montana; three grandchildren-Paul Oxboro; Adam Oxboro; Tim Sneath; and eight great grandchildren.
His graveside service will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017, at 2 o’clock, with full military honors.
