Wayne Edward Clark

Wayne Edward Clark, born on October 23, 1953, in Moncks Corner, passed away on July 23, 2026. Wayne lived a life grounded in kindness, devotion, and integrity, leaving behind a legacy cherished by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Wayne’s early years were spent surrounded by a loving family. He was the son of Willard Edward Clark and Laverne Taylor Vaughn, both of whom preceded him in death. Wayne was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita Ashe Clark, whose memory he honored dearly.

Wayne was a dedicated professional, having retired from the Department of Transportation as an Inspector. His career reflected his steadfast commitment to service and excellence. Outside of his work, Wayne was known for his love of animals, especially his cherished cat who was a constant companion. 

Music was another of Wayne’s enduring passions. A very talented musician, he played guitar and sang, sharing his gift with those closest to him. His music brought joy to family gatherings, uplifted spirits, and created memories that will resonate in the hearts of his loved ones for years to come.

Wayne is survived by his brothers Donald "Sammy" Clark (Elaine), Gregory Clark (Katrina), and Robert "Reid" Clark (Karen); his sister Sharon Clark Butler; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Russellville Christian Church, located at 1681 Highway 35, Saint Stephen, SC 29479. All who knew and loved Wayne are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, his music, his devotion to those he loved, and his steadfast spirit. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
