Vergie Ann Bills Mertins

Vergie Ann Bills Mertins, 72, of Moncks Corner, widow of Ernest C. "Mert" Mertins, Jr., died Monday morning, November 22, 2010, in Trident Medical Center, Charleston.

Vergie was born September 28, 1938, in Harts, W. Va., the daughter of John Bills and Lizzie Frye Bills.

She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goose Creek.

Surviving are 3 sons - Lonnie Adkins and his wife, Rebecca, of Summerville; Randal Adkins and his wife, Laura, of Summerville; and David Adkins and his wife, Julie, of Macedonia; 4 sisters Daisy Nelson of Woodstown, NJ; Lola Adkins and her husband, Cletis, of Huntington, W VA; Marty Beach of Summerville; and Becky Wiley of St. Stephen; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son - Clifford W. Adkins and a sister - Sue Harshburger.

A memorial service for Vergie will be held Sunday afternoon, November 28, 2010, at 3 o'clock, in First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goose Creek
