Sam Barnett, 82, of Moncks Corner, former supervisor at Umphlett Lumber Company and widower of Bertie Fiddie Barnett, died Monday April 4, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Barnett was born on April 20, 1928 in Berkeley County the son of Ernest Russell Barnett and Ruth Hughes Barnett. He was a past Deacon at First Christian Church of Moncks Corner and a Berkeley County Coon Hunting Legend

Surviving are 3 daughters – Patsy Rogerson and her husband, Frank of Moncks Corner; Linda Absher and her husband, Jimmie of Bonneau; Peggy Davis and her husband, Gregg of Pinopolis;
4 grandchildren – Karol Anne Roberts; Ben Rogerson; James Absher; Brett Davis; 6 great grandchildren and a special daughter, Annette E. Thornley.

His graveside funeral service was held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 5:00 PM at Berkeley Memorial Gardens directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL.
