Roy Whaley

Ernest Leroy “Roy” Whaley, 53, of Moncks Corner, husband of Karen Roach Whaley, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018.

Roy was born January 31, 1965 in Berkeley County, a son of Nancy Green Whaley Austin and the late Leroy Whaley.

A graduate of Berkeley High School, Roy was a member of Pinopolis United Methodist Church. He was employed by Container Maintenance Corporation as a refrigeration mechanic at the Wando Terminal. He was a member of the International Longshoreman’s Association, Local 1422-A as well as a lifetime member of the NRA.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother and step father- Nancy and William Austin of Columbia; two sons- Jacob Curtis Whaley and Jeremy Ryan Whaley both of Moncks Corner; brothers- Michael Whaley and his wife, Shannon of Goose Creek; David Whaley and his wife, Tricia, of Moncks Corner; sisters- Carol Clarke and her husband, Dean, of Summerville and Myra Whaley of North Charleston; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Wednesday evening July 25, 2018 at 6 o’clock. The family will receive friends following the service.
