Robert "Bobby" Lee Hood

Robert “Bobby” Lee Hood, 73, of Macedonia, husband of Janice Lyons Hood passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Robert was born December 17, 1944 in Hyden, Kentucky, a son of Francis Baker Hood and the late Lee Solomon Hood.

A dedicated husband of 50 years; Bobby was a loving father and grandfather. He spent vacation time traveling the US with his daughters, making memories. A graduate of Macedonia High School, Bobby served his country in the United States Army in Germany and was a retired paper tester with Westvaco. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and treating the neighborhood children to bubble gum.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters- Tania Hood Brinson of Macedonia; Sonia Hood Strickland and her husband, Norman, of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren- Norman Leo Strickland III of Mt. Pleasant; Robert Daniel Strickland of Mt. Pleasant; Gracie Alana Brinson of Macedonia; sisters- Wilma Harrill and her husband, Tommy, of Gaffney; Wanda Shealy and her husband, Greg, of Macedonia; a brother- William “Billy” Hood and his wife, Marsha, of Macedonia; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother- Lonnie Hood.

His memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Friday evening, January 5, 2018, at 5 o'clock. The family will receive friends from 4 o'clock until the hour of service.
