Patricia Lucille Mitchum

Patricia L. Mitchum, 83, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away on Friday evening, October 16, 2026. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on January 21, 1943, to St. Clair and Lucille Mitchum of Bonneau, South Carolina.

Patricia spent much of her life working in education. She enjoyed writing poetry, watching Family Feud, spending time with family, and taking short rides to explore new places or go shopping. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a special way of bringing laughter to those around her. Her beloved pets, Ziggy, Honey, GiGi, and Oreo, held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Childress-Altman (Brian); her son, Brett Mixon (Nichole); grandchildren Taylor Mixon, Delaney Mixon, Noah Carraway, and Emberly Carraway; great-granddaughter Gianna Miller; brothers Donald Mitchum (Sheila) and Tommy Mitchum (Gale); many nieces and nephews and family friend Barbara Osburn.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Poplin, in 2012, and her grandson, Jeremy E. Miller, in 2020.Patricia leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her love of family, and the joy she found in spending time with those closest to her. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
