Ninarea “Nina” Mims Kizer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday July 28th.
Born and raised in Macedonia, South Carolina, Nina was a proud graduate of Macedonia High School and Palmer Business College. She spent many years serving her community through her work at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and later with the Social Security Administration in Georgetown, where she was known for her dedication and kindness.
Nina married the love of her life, Lorenzo Aaron Kizer, Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Aaron and Nina would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on August 30, 2025. Together they built a beautiful family, raising two sons, Bryan D. Kizer (Margaret Hale Kizer) and Jamie A. Kizer (Christine Waz Kizer). Nina’s legacy of love continues through her adored grandchildren: Abigail Rebecca Kizer, Connor Aaron Kizer, Carson Thomas Kizer, and Madelyn Delaney Kizer. Nina had two brothers; Jackie C. Mims (deceased) and is survived by her brother Heyward L. Mims.
Nina was a quiet soul with a heart full of love. Those fortunate enough to call her a friend knew they had the truest and most loyal friend one could ever hope for. She lived her life with grace, always putting others before herself. Her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was steadfast, guiding her in every aspect of her life.
Her greatest joy came from her family—especially her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Nina’s gentle spirit, unwavering love, and selfless nature will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
