Margie White Roberts, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Born on November 3, 1929, in Richton, Mississippi, a daughter of Porter G. White and Floyce West White. Margie led a life marked by devotion, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Margie’s journey was enriched by her dedication as a military wife, a role that took her across the globe and afforded her a unique perspective on life and service. Her compassionate spirit was further exemplified through her volunteer work with the Red Cross as a Gray Lady, where she touched many lives with kindness and grace. Alongside her husband of over fifty years, Billie S. Roberts, who preceded her in death, she co-founded and owned Friar Tucks, a successful boutique that reflected her entrepreneurial spirit and partnership.
A proud member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moncks Corner, Margie's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found deep fulfillment and connection within this spiritual community, which she cherished alongside her family. Gardening and yard work were some of her passions, providing her both joy and tranquility throughout her many years.
Margie was a loving mother to her daughter, Carol Kennemur of Moncks Corner, and her son, Michael Roberts, and his wife Rose of Atlanta. She was a devoted grandmother to three grandchildren: Robbie Kennemur and his wife Shannon of Isle of Palms, Jessica Keiser and her husband Chris of Orlando, and Michael Roberts Jr. and his wife Dani of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her legacy of love and warmth extended to her great-grandchildren—Hugh and Noah Kennemur, and Billie and Maggie Roberts—who brought her immeasurable happiness. Her family also remembers with fondness her late son, John Roberts and her parents, who preceded her in death.
