Mamie Fiddie Parker, lovingly known as Mamie, passed away peacefully at her home on May 25, 2026, in Moncks Corner at the age of 91.
Born on February 8, 1935, in Berkeley County, she lived a life marked by devotion and kindness. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents Theodore Fiddie and Mattie Mizzell Fiddie, also numerous brothers and sisters. She carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life and shared them generously with everyone around her.
Mamie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Roy E. Parker, her daughter, Dianne Parker, and her son, Roy E. Parker Jr., and his wife, Kathy. She was a proud grandmother to Stephen Parker and his wife, Margaret, and Ryan Parker. She also held a special place in her heart for her brothers, Jimmy Fiddie and his wife, Shirley, and Raymond Fiddie and his wife, Delma. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in caring for them in every way she could.
Those who knew Mamie will remember her as selfless, thoughtful, and loving. She took great pride in maintaining a clean house and found happiness in cooking and feeding her family, as well as gifting her delicious pecan pies. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and welcome, and she expressed her love through the meals she prepared and the care she gave. She was always attentive to the needs of others and was known for putting family and friends before herself.
Mamie also cherished simple pleasures and treasured fond memories of fishing with Mr. Rogerson and Ms. Bertie. These moments reflected her appreciation for the beauty of everyday life. She valued time spent with others and created lasting memories through her gentle spirit and warm presence.
Her life was a testament to faithfulness, hard work, and unconditional love. Mamie touched many lives with her gracious nature and devotion, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered not only for all she did, but for the way she made others feel cared for, respected, and loved.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to caregivers Meleah Scott and Nicole Morris for their kindness and support. Their compassion was deeply appreciated and brought comfort during a time of need. Also, appreciation to Amedisys Hospice and Roper Hospital Cardiac Division.
