Bishop Louis Kinard, Jr., 78, went home to be with the Lord on the 5th of July 2025.
He was born on November 5, 1946, in Charleston, SC, a son of Louis Kinard and Frances Thomas Kinard. He dedicated his life to the Lord in 1972 and would eventually become a minister for the Church of God of Prophecy where he served for thirty-two years. His faithful life portrayed his favorite hymnal, “I Am Determined to Hold Out”. He was a devoted child of God, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
In addition to being a minister, he was also a maintenance supervisor for Amoco Chemicals, carpenter, and entrepreneur. He enjoyed his free time being an avid outdoorsman, reading, gardening, wood working and spending time with his loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Clark Kinard; one daughter, Sheila Kinard of Alvin; two sons, L.C. Kinard and his wife, Melissa of Alvin; B.J. Kinard and his wife, Krystal of Macedonia; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a brother, Jimmy Kinard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bertie Yohe; and two brothers, Terry Kinard and Tony Kinard.
