Laura (Platts) Wilson

Laura Platts Wilson, 74, of St. Stephen, homemaker, and wife of Benjamen Wilson, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Laura was born January 25, 1949, in Charleston South Carolina, a daughter of Francis Platts and Mary Hodge Platts.

She loved camping and could often be found planning her next outdoor adventure. She also enjoyed shopping on QVC, always on the lookout for the perfect gift for her loved ones. But above all, Laura loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters- Melissa Patton and her husband Scott of N. Charleston, and Amanda Dennis and her husband Ritchie of St. Stephen; two brothers- Leo Platts of Barnwell and Gary Platts of Pineville; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and four siblings.

Her funeral service will be at Russell Funeral Chapel, Friday morning, July 14, 2023, at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow in the Dennis Family Cemetery, 236 Dennis Ridge Road, Bonneau, SC 29431. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
