Larry Hamner was born on March 5, 1953, in Norfolk County, Virginia. From an early age, he carried a deep love for freedom, family, and the outdoors. He found joy in baseball, fishing, hunting, and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Larry’s passion for motorcycles went far beyond riding — he personally built his own Harley motorcycle by hand, a remarkable achievement that earned him multiple awards and recognition in local newspapers.
Larry was a devoted son, loving husband, and caring father who cherished his family deeply. He was also a highly skilled welding technician who worked faithfully and diligently for companies including the Navy Shipyard and others throughout his career. Known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and vibrant spirit, Larry brought strength, laughter, and kindness to those around him.
During his eight-year battle with cancer, Larry faced every challenge with courage, faith, and determination, never giving up hope. On May 24, 2026, he passed away peacefully in his sleep and entered into the eternal peace of the Lord. While his family and friends will miss him dearly, they find comfort in knowing that he is now resting safely in God’s loving arms. Larry’s life, love, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
