Laneta Alene Wells

Laneta Alene Wells, 71, of Cordesville, wife of James R. Wells, died Friday, February 5, 2010, in a Charleston hospital.

She was born January 6, 1939, in Beckley, W.VA., the daughter of Alonzo Ray Anderson and Sibyl Jessin Keener.

Laneta was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Eastern Star.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children - Julie Leedham and her husband, Dennis, of Temecula, CA; Robin Cheever and her husband, Donald, of Cordesville; Daniel Wells, Sr., of Cordesville; Cathy Bowers of Cordesville; Jimmy Wells and his wife, Tricia, of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters - Sharril Kay Hutchinson of Cordesville; Deborah Wells, and her husband, Wayne, of Cordesville; brother - Jerry Edens and his wife, Jean, of W.VA. She was preceeded in death by 2 brothers - Jackie Ray Anderson and Billy Richard Edens.

Her funeral service will be Monday afternoon, February 8, 2010, at 2 o'clock, in Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Relatives and friends may call at Russell Funeral Chapel between 6 and 8 o'clock Sunday evening, February 7, 2010.
