Katherine Elizabeth Mueller, known affectionately to many as "Lib," passed away peacefully at her home in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, on May 21, 2026. Born Katherine Elizabeth Wickert on July 23, 1957, in Charleston, South Carolina, she lived a life characterized by heartfelt dedication, selflessness, and deep love for her family.
From an early age, Lib demonstrated a compassionate spirit that would define her life’s path. She embraced her calling as a dedicated caregiver for her family members, offering unwavering support, kindness, and strength. Her selfless nature was evident to all who knew her, as she consistently placed the needs of her loved ones above her own.
Lib found joy and solace in the beauty of music, the tranquility of plants, and the embrace of nature. These passions were a reflection of her gentle soul and provided comfort throughout her life. Above all, her profound faith in the Lord shaped her journey. She and her family had always been a members of the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner.
She is survived by her sons, Louis "Bo" Mueller and Christopher Mueller; her daughter, Sara Lizabeth Hood; and her grandchildren, Ella Grace Hood and Hailee Madison Uitich. She is also survived by her brother, Robert "Bob" Wickert, and his wife Evelyn, as well as her sister, Janice Atkinson.
Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Hampton W. Wickert; her mother, Myrtle Creech Wickert; her brother, Bill Wickert; and her sister, Dianne Hyrne.
