Joye Catherine Beaver Tart, born on August 8, 1939, in Perry, Florida, peacefully passed away on July 14, 2025, in Summerville, South Carolina. Joye lived a life full of love, dedication, and creativity, which will be cherished by all who knew her.
A retired seafood department manager with Winn Dixie, she devoted herself to her career while also nurturing her passions outside of work. Joye had a great love for fishing and enjoyed painting florals, which allowed her to express her artistic spirit. Most importantly, she cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will be remembered fondly.
Joye and her beloved husband, Harold Andrew Tart, shared a remarkable partnership that spanned 45 years, including 25 years of marriage. Their love story is a testament to their deep connection and mutual support throughout the years.
Joye is survived by her husband, Harold Andrew Tart; her son, Charles "Butch" Packer, and his wife, Sandra Ann; four grandchildren: Kevin Ackerman, Russell "Rusty" Mills, Brandon Mills, and Joy Mills; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Billie Brown, and her husband, Henry, who will remember her warmth and spirit.
Joye was predeceased by her parents, Willard Fillmore Beaver and Sara Cannon Beaver, and her daughter, Terri Mills.
Visitation will be held at Cordesville First Baptist Church, Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are welcome to gather to honor Joye's life and the cherished memories they hold in their hearts.
