Joyce Mikkelson Davis

Joyce Mikkelson Davis of Pinopolis, SC, died Friday evening at her residence.

Mrs. Davis was born January 4, 1936, in Andrews, SC, a daughter of Harry Clifford Mikkelson and Martha Finklea Mikkelson.

She was a Branch Manager and a long-time employee with Cooper River Federal Savings and Loan Association. She retired in 2003. She was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, SC where she was a soloist of the choir for 50 plus years. She was well-known throughout the community for her singing at weddings and funerals.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Isaac Buist Davis. Her two brothers, Edward W. Mikkelson and Kenneth F. Mikkelson, and two sisters, Jeanette M. Wiggins, and Martha Lynn M. Dupree.

Surviving are her son - Michael B. Davis and his wife, Sylleste, of Moncks Corner; three daughters - Laura D. Mims, and her husband, Mike, of Alvin; Loraine D. Dennis and her husband, Edward (Ned), of Moncks Corner; and Janet D. York and her husband, Kevin, of Beaverton, Oregon; a sister - Nancy B. Hanna, seven grandchildren - Kirkland B. Stiling; N. Carson Blevins; Andrew M. Davis; Scott M. Davis; Lee H. Davis; Paige E. York, John H. Davis and eight great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the many caregivers throughout her illness, the family is grateful for your service to Mrs. Davis and the family.

The family wishes to also express their sincere gratitude to SC House Calls (Your Health) and Agape Care Group - Hospice staff for the care provided to Mrs. Davis during her illness.

Mrs. Davis’ funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 112 East Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will follow at St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at the church from 10:30 AM until the hour of service.
