John Lawrence "Johnny" Hunter, 67, passed away on April 25, 2024, in Summerville, S.C.. Born on July 30, 1956, in Berkeley County, Johnny was a son of the late Clarence C. Hunter Sr. and Della Ann Metts Hunter.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Brenda Mills Hunter, his daughter Jessica and her husband Jack Sanders III, and his grandson Jackson "Jack" Sanders IV. He will also be remembered by his many nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his sisters Brenda Frank and Mary Clarke, and his brother Cecil Hunter.

An alumni of Cross High School, Johnny went on to build a career with Santee Cooper and Nucor Steel where he was respected for his work ethic and leadership. He spent many years welding and fabricating metal and aluminum in his personal workshop.

Johnny was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing and hunting, especially deer and turkey. His weekends were often spent cheering on his beloved Clemson football team. He took great pride in maintaining his well-manicured yard.

He was a dedicated husband, father, and Pa-Pa who loved his family deeply. He will be greatly missed.
