Joann Walters Hinson, born on March 23, 1938, in Reevesville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. A beloved member of her community and family, where she made lasting connections and left a positive impact on those around her.

As a devoted member of the Pinopolis Community Church, Joann found joy and solace in her faith. Throughout her life, she cultivated a deep love for gardening, reading, and caring for animals. She was also passionate about golf, often enjoying the game with friends and family, while cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones.

Joann was immensely proud of her family. She spent 43 wonderful years married to her husband, Richard Paul Hinson, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a family that continues to thrive. Joann is survived by her daughter, Robin H. Perry and her husband Jody; her son, Richard Paul Hinson Jr. and his wife Cathy; and her cherished grandchildren: Joel Perry and his wife Katie, Brett Brock and her husband Colt, Jill Hartle and her husband Matt, and Jordan H. Orvin and her husband Jared. Her legacy of love extends to her great-grandchildren, including Addison Perry, Jase Brock, Riley Perry, Hinson Brock, Westlynn Orvin, Langston Orvin, Tate Orvin, and Lucy Hartle.

Joann joins in eternal rest with her loving parents, Carlisle Joseph Walters and Vernell Taylors Walters, her brother Moody Walters, sister Beverly Howell, and sister Linda Driggers, all of whom she held dear in her heart.

In remembrance of Joann's life, visitation will be held at the Pinopolis Community Church on December 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, SC. Both services will take place at 1833 Pinopolis Road, Pinopolis, SC 29469.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Pinopolis Community Church, 1833 Pinopolis Road, Pinopolis, SC 29469.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Wildcat Senior Living, and Bristol Hospice for the care they provided.

Her kind spirit, unwavering love for her family, and commitment to her community will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Joann Walters Hinson's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life beautifully lived.
