James “Jimmy” Calvin Williams, 69, of Cordesville, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022.
James was born October 11, 1952, in Berkeley County, son of James E. Williams and Alberta Pierce Johns.
Mr. Williams was a loving father, grandfather and son, and a US Army veteran. He was a contractor for many years and loved spending time with his grandchildren and working on cars.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are a son- Damon M. Collins and his wife, Quawntaigsa; three daughters- Tina Gibbs, Jennifer Collins, and Beverly Metts; Eight grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; four brothers- Joe Williams and his wife, Patti of Bonneau; Terri Davis and his wife, Lisa of Pensacola, Florida; William A. Johns of Cincinnati, Ohio; Bruce L. Johns of Newington, Georgia; four sisters- Carol Meredith of Pensacola, Florida; Joanne Williams of Ludowici, Georgia; Mary Wright and her husband, Mark of Salisbury, North Carolina; Frances Allmon and her husband, Scott of Salisbury, North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Jimmy was predeceased by his step-father, Bill Johns.
His funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Thursday morning, February 24, 2022, at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
