Grace Eastwood Freeman

Sarah “Grace” Eastwood Freeman, 95, of Summerville, widow of Gilbert Clayton Freeman, Sr., passed away Monday, December 4, 2017.

Grace was born May 15, 1922 in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of Miles Eastwood and Lilly James Eastwood.

After retiring from Suburban Propane, as an office manager, Grace volunteered at Summerville Medical Center for 20 years. She was a member of Dorchester Presbyterian Church where she sang in the church choir.


Surviving are two sons- Gilbert C. Freeman, Jr. and his wife, Nelda of Benbrook, Tx.; Steven Arnold Freeman of Moncks Corner; a daughter- Sarah Angela Finlayson of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter in law- Meredith Freeman; a sister- Bee Yandle of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Thursday morning, December 7, 2017, at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10 o’clock until the hour of service.
