Ronald Gene Cribb, Sr., 77, of Moncks Corner, owner of Music Man’s Bar-B-Que and husband of Esther Edens Cribb, passed away at home Sunday, July 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Gene was born June 5, 1946, in Moncks Corner, a son of Walter Clifton Cribb and Ella Mae Mitchell Cribb.
A 1965 graduate of Macedonia High School, Gene was a loving and devoted husband for 53 years to Esther, a loving father, and member of Cordesville First Baptist. He loved Clemson Football, playing drums in his band, and camping with family. Gene was a member of Masonic Lodge 269, Omar Shrine, and Berkeley Shrine; and a founding member of Customs 4+2 Band; he was inducted into the Lowcountry Music Hall of Fame.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter Joy C. Matthews and her husband, Michael; son Ronald “Ron” Cribb; two granddaughters- Martha Taylor Matthews and Emily Ruth Matthews and her fiancé Christopher B. Allen; brother- Woodrow N. Cribb; sister-in-law- Patsy Edens Cribb, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Walter “Junior” Cribb and Donald Jack Cribb and sisters-in-law Gertrude Cribb and Betty Cribb.
His memorial service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, 107 W. Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 5:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until the hour of service, directed by Russell Funeral Chapel.
