Ervin Allen "Cootie" Grooms, 67, of Cross, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in a Charleston hospital.
Ervin was born January 7, 1944, in Cross, the son of Frank Grooms and Annie Ruth Timmons Grooms.
He was a construction supervisor and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are a son - Brian Grooms of Summerville; 2 dauaghters - Cathy Grooms Smith of Cross and Teresa Grooms Maxey of Macedonia; 3 grandchildren - Vicki Maxey; Brittny Maxey Barry and Logan Smith.
A memorial service was held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Moncks Corner, Saturday September, 17,2011, at 12 noon with interment following in Black Creek Cemetery. The family received friends at Russell Funeral Chapel for one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Assn., 409 King St., Suite 300, Charleston, S. C. 29403.
