Eric Kevin Worth Sr.

Eric Kevin Worth Sr., known affectionately as Ricky, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Summerville, South Carolina, at the age of 69. Born on February 20, 1957, in Ft. Benning, Georgia, he lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a genuine love for people. He was friendly, adventurous, and selfless, and he carried those qualities with him throughout his life.

Ricky graduated from Gupton Jones University and became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, a profession in which he served with dignity and compassion. He later founded Worth Monument Company and proudly grew it into three locations, building a respected business through perseverance, integrity, and a natural gift for connecting with others. He was also a talented salesman and held management positions with Woodmen of the World, Modern Woodmen, and Foresters Life Insurance Companies. His career reflected his strong work ethic and his ability to lead with confidence and kindness.

He was involved in his community and in organizations that mattered to him. Ricky was a Mason and a Shriner, and he was also a participating family member of the 238th Engineer Combat Battalion. These affiliations were a meaningful part of his life and reflected his respect for fellowship, service, and tradition.

Ricky enjoyed camping and traveling in his RVs, and he especially loved riding his motorcycle cross-country. He had a big personality and never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went. Above all, he was a proud father who treasured time spent with his family. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of ease to those around him, and he will be remembered for the joy he shared so freely.

He is survived by his daughter, Alison W. Harrison, and her husband, Chris; his son, Kevin Worth, and his wife, Nicole; his grandchildren, Taylor Harrison and Beau Harrison; his brother, Randy Worth; his sister, Mary Worth; and his former wife, Wanda Ackerman, and her husband, Vern. He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. Worth and Catherine Ulmer Worth, and by his beloved dog, Max.

Ricky’s life was one of purpose, generosity, and enduring love. He will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Sept. 29, 2026, 5-7PM at Russel Funeral Chapel. His funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1PM at Russell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Macedonia.
