Delores Ann Fairey Hoff, peacefully passed away on August 20, 2025, just shy of her 75th birthday. Born in Walterboro, S.C. on September 4, 1950, she dedicated her life to nurturing others, both professionally as a retired nurse and personally through her profound commitment to family and faith.
Delores’ career in nursing was marked by her compassionate care and unwavering support for those in need. Beyond her professional contributions, she touched countless lives through her involvement in teaching Sunday School and babysitting, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many children. Her legacy is one of love and dedication.
Her loving husband of 57 years, William Clark Hoff, stands as a testament to the enduring partnership built on mutual respect and affection. Delores is also survived by her daughters, Franci Rochester and her husband Brent, Tammy Mitchum and her husband Roger, and Cherith Williams and her husband Jason, and her son, James "Andie" Hoff and his wife Christy. These family bonds were further enriched by her grandchildren: Isaac Rochester, Micah Rochester, Kidron Rochester, Rebecca Mitchum, Rachel Shillinglaw, Roger Wayne Mitchum, Rianna Williamson, Kaleigh Hoff, Nikki Gayle, Andrew Hoff, Jase Williams, and Brooke Williams. Also by her great-grandchildren: Ayden Shillinglaw, Emma Shillinglaw, Remi Shillinglaw, Karrie Mitchum, Easton Williamson, and Everleigh Williamson.
Delores loved spending time with her family, often traveling and camping in the mountains. Her spirit was grounded in her faith, which played a significant role in her life, particularly through her active presence in church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Frederick Fairey and Rachel Adams Fairey, and her great-grandchild, Chloe Rochester.
Family, friends, and all who knew Delores are invited to gather for a Visitation at Russell Funeral Chapel in Moncks Corner, SC, on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service commencing at 3:00 PM, where her life will be celebrated and remembered. Burial will be in St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinopolis, S.C.
