Charles William Wofford

Charles William “Chuck” Wofford, born June 30, 1948, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away on July 29, 2026, at his home in Pinopolis. He lived a life marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and steady commitment to the community he loved.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 48 years, Theresa Finucan Wofford, his daughter, Katie W. Morrow and her children, Emma and Michael and his son, Will Wofford and his fiance' Brandi and their children, Jordan and Cruz. He is also survived by his brothers, Rufus Wofford Jr. and his wife Pat, and Joe Wofford and his wife Pat, and brothers-in-law, Michael Parker and Charles Rentiers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus H. Wofford and Rosa Lu Hucks Wofford, his brother, Buck Wofford, and sisters-in-law, Dreda F. Rentiers and Linda F. Parker.

Chuck was a graduate of Berkeley High School, where he played football and formed friendships and memories that remained important to him throughout his life. He carried the same spirit of teamwork and determination into adulthood, where he became known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. After years of dedicated service, he retired from Berkeley County Water and Sewer.

A proud Vietnam Combat Veteran, Chuck honored his service with quiet dignity and remained connected to fellow veterans throughout his life. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America and previously served as Commander of American Legion Post 126. His commitment to those who served reflected the same sense of duty and loyalty that guided him in all areas of life.

Chuck found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. He loved taking care of his family and was happiest when surrounded by those he cherished most. He enjoyed walking in the community, spending time at the lake, fishing, and cheering for Gamecock Football. He was also a faithful member of Pinopolis Community Church and held the longest membership in the Men of the Church, a testament to his steadfast faith and fellowship.

Those who knew Chuck will remember him as loving, selfless, and thoughtful. He had a kind presence and a generous heart, and he touched the lives of many through his words, actions, and example. His life was one of service, devotion, and quiet strength, and his memory will be treasured by all who were blessed to know him.
