Wesley Cox Obituary

Wesley Talbert Cox, 56, of Moncks Corner, husband of Peggy Sue Bailey Cox, and the owner and operator of a trucking business, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

Wesley was born January 16, 1962 in Berkeley County, a son of the late Norman Talbert Cox and the late Linda Rollinson Suit.

A giving man of God, Wesley was an active member of New Beginnings Church where he had led a men’s group and worship. A very talented guitarist and drummer, Wesley loved music and was a member of the band The Edge of Red. He was known as a handyman and generous to anyone in need. A loving husband to Peggy for 14 years, Wesley was also a very proud father, especially proud of the mission work his daughter Nora was involved in.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter- Nora Bethel Cox of Moncks Corner and her mother-Jerri Louise of Erie, Pa.; two brothers- Zane Cox and his wife, Jocelyn, of Moncks Corner; Myles G. Cox of St. Stephen; step mother- Gloria Cox; mother and father in law- Chuck and Barbara Pitcher and his loyal friends and band members- Don Bailey and Brian Bradshaw.

Wesley found joy in life and during his illness continued to praise the Lord. It was important to him that everyone know that Christ was the source of his Joy and that Jesus would want us to love one another.

A celebration of Wesley's life will held at New Beginnings Worship Center, 2816 S. Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, Saturday December 29, 2018 at 4 o'clock. A potluck is scheduled to follow, as Wesley loved to eat. Bring  a dish if you wish.
